So can I just say how excited we are about entering YEAR FIVE! I mean seriously, where has the time gone…
Seems like just yesterday, my partner/hubby Stefan and I were leading all the tours ourselves and enjoying a half smoke or two along the way!
But fast forward five years later, we have hosted over 5500+ guests, and donated over 16K meals to our partners at Bread for the City! Not to mention grew our team to 7 guides and some awesome support as well!
Its been a whirlwind and I can’t wait to see where the next 5 years lead us!
And in that vein, we spent a lot of time in 2018 stepping back, reevaluating what works, what doesn’t and where we want to go.
We pride ourselves on telling the stories of DC’s neighborhoods through food, and so one thing we chose to do was take a look at our tours and update that story where it made sense.
U street started out as our flagship tour in 2015, and while it’s had a few different iterations over the years, we wanted to give it a good scrub, hunt down the latest flavors and give it the makeover it deserves.
So January 1st, we rolled out a brand new U St Tour route, complete with new restaurants, new flavors and new stories!
I’ve had a great time getting to know some of the new owners in the area, tasting their dishes, and learning about the stories that inspired them to open their restaurants. After all these are the culture makers of DC.
Now I’m super stoked to share what we’ve discovered with you.
